I hate animal rescue shelters. Not because I hate animals. I love animals. Baby animals are my favorite. Puppies, kittens, baby bunnies are all so adorable. Animal rescue is such a pet peeve of mine I turn off the radio if I hear an animal rescue commercial. Don’t get me wrong, I believe we should help struggling, abused animals, but let’s get our priorities straight. Since 1973 the US has murdered about 63 million of our own children in the name of convenience and there are estimated to be 153 million orphans and up to 30 million sex slaves worldwide.
We are told that unborn babies or fetuses are not humans but just a mass of tissue. So here we are treating our children like tumors while feeling sorry for the homeless dog or cat. We treat our animals like humans and our children like diseases. We let our dogs and cats snuggle with us in bed but don’t allow our children the safety of their mother’s womb. We rescue so many cats our house smells like a dirty litter box but more than two children is to much for us to handle.
When are we going to adopt too many children for our house? When are we going to not be able to sleep unless a child is safely snuggled in bed beside us?
I am so peeved about this misplacement of value I can hardly write about it in a civil manner. Maybe it is because I love babies and young children so much. Young children stir up some of my strongest emotions. If there is a baby or young child in the room I am drawn to them like a magnet.
Where are the child rescue commercials? I don’t remember the last time I heard one!
